Causing a major security alert which resulted in the evacuation of a train station, the closure of a shopping center or the grounding a plane is not as hard as it was. In the post 9-11 world of security has been exploited to a state of alert and the kinds of events have become commonplace. But not all security threats are created equal. Some are caused by something as ridiculous, act or event as boneheadly stupid they can hardly be believed. These deserve special recognition and while many were nominated for inclusion in the eight listed below stand out from the rest of the pack as the most bizarre crimes of security in the world post 9-11.

o May 9, 2006 Hazardous materials teams were called to the memory of Vietnam in Washington DC to study powder suspect has been found scattered around memory. The area around the memorial was promptly arrested and officials wearing suits Bio-Hazard in. However, he offers no cause for alarm. It seems to spread to someone what we believe to be the ashes of the man at the memory. According to DC Fire and EMS spokesman Alan Etter, the placement of human ashes on public property is not legal.

o The scattering of ashes were also behind a fear far greater in 2002. This has led to the closure of Seattle, Washington airspace and closure of an entire neighborhood. It appears that wish to die a devoted Seattle Mariner fan was that his ashes be scattered on a baseball team. When friends tried to oblige by dropping a bag of his ashes over the stage, things do not go as planned. Instead of opening the bag in the air as expected the bag instead hit the ground intact. That same day FBI officials warned the public of possible terrorist use small aircraft in attacks.

air passengers at the airport o Mackay Australia were delayed more than 30 minutes on 4 October 2004, when a buzz bin caused security alarms to sound. No bomb was found. Instead, it seems a passenger takes a vibrator in a trash before taking a flight to Brisbane. Bomb experts were about to be called when the passenger came forward and explained humiliated situation.

o In Scotland, shortly after the London bombings in 2005, passengers on a train en route to Edinburgh were alarmed when odor deleterious began to spread through one of the cars. The smell came from a box in a baggage compartment, a security alert full has been issued. The passengers were evacuated and the train backed by emergency response units. The culprit? A pair of tennis shoes very well used.

o In Florida there is a punk rocker with the name, "This bike is a bomb." When an officer Ohio University spotted a bicycle chained in March 2006 near a restaurant in the area was cordoned off and a part of the university was closed for several hours. Despite assurances from the owner of the bike the sticker referred to a rock band and not a real bomb of the $ 800 bicycle was destroyed by the Columbus, Ohio bomb squad and the student arrested for inciting panic. Charges were eventually dropped and the student paid for the bike.

o While the abandoned cars often cause security alerts in the world, in May 2005, a drop of U-Haul on the Brooklyn Bridge caused the closure of the bridge for more than two hours. While traffic backed throughout New York, the police worked to determine what, if any, the threat exists. Finally, they concluded the U-Haul did not carry bomb, and it was likely the truck drivers had simply abandoned the vehicle when they realized it was higher than the bridges said height requirements.

o In March 2005 German postal workers were alarmed when a packet has started to vibrate and called the police. The sorting office was evacuated and the police dragged sender of the parcel to the station to explain the offending piece of mail. It turns that the sender was a great moment of return of sex doll, "kept to march at the wrong time.

o and the price of the most stupid boneheadly cause a major security alert goes to the Los Angeles Times and the promotional department of the third installment of the franchise Mission Impossible movie. In April 2006, the groups combined to place digital music devices in boxes of paper new Los Angeles Times. These devices were destined to play the "Mission Impossible theme song" when the rack door is open. Unfortunately, many employers Times confused son leading to the switch on the door for new bombs and called the police. Several areas around the 4,500 boxes were equipped with evacuated and the County of Los Angeles Arson same service has exploded before being informed that all the panic was the result of a stunt gone wrong.

Gentlemen: This is a problem for your police department in a possible money scam via Pay Pal. I sold a water ski to a Susan Lanyon, address: 10 Macallister CT.,
139 Gold Creek Rd. Brookfield 4069, Brisbane QLD Austrailia. Does this person & address exists? No money has yet been exchanged as I feel a possible scam in the making. I sent her an invoice for $200 via Pay Pal. In return I received an e-mail, suppossely from Pay Pal, but it didn’t look right. In the e-mail she said she was sending $900 to Pay Pal & I should send $350 to her shipping agent via Western Union. I was to send the $350 FIRST before her funds would go to my Pay Pak account. I felt I would never see my $350 or here again. Pleasae c heck this out. Thank you. Sid Steele
